I messed up, this meet is in Jacksonville, FLA, not Tallahassee, starts next week though, on the 24th

Getting "hot & steamy" down here...should be some good #'s!

Was up in the 'ville Monday...passed an over-turned beer truck @ I-95/I-4. Saw on HLN this morning where $50,000 of brew (Heineken) went into the ditch...sad.

weather looks hot and windy, whoever decided to have this meet in Florida is nuts, same with having the west region in Austin, these meets should be in cool weather climates.

Jeremiah Vaughan just finished 9th in heat 1 of the 1500 meter run and will not advance (4:07.77)

Congrats to Felisha Johnson AND Mary Theisen, they BOTH placed in the top 12 in the shot put and will advance to the NCAA championship meet in Des Moines! Johnson was 5th, Theisen was 9th! Great job gals!

Leeann Michl up next in the women's 800, all 3 women have advanced today, so a great day for the ISU women.

ISU has 2 in the men's 10k at 9pm

Craig Padgett and Al Escalera were 26th and 28th in the men's 10k, it was a BRUTAL race, very hot and humid, people were collapsing during the race. The two of them ran well though, they ran 31:07 and 31:08, Craig passed Al right at the end of the race. Only the top 12 advanced to the NCAA meet in Des Moines.

Yeah, that 10K looked like a bit of a "death march". Still, they competed well. I'm sure it's not easy to come back after MVC's and run another 10K. Congrats to both of them. Looking forward to more good racing tonight. Hopefully, the weather will settle down a bit.

ISU off to a great start today, Brandon Pounds is in 5th or 6th place after the first 3 throws in the Hammer throw, so he'll advance to the NCAA meet. Richelle Kimble is in 13th place right now in the women's pole vault, if she can clear one more height she should advance to the NCAA meet as well. The rest of the ISU athletes compete later today

Brandon Pounds advances to the NCAA meet with a 5th place finish! Kimble places 14th in pole vault and barely misses qualifying!

Several other ISU athletes will compete later today

Greggmar Swift just advanced easily to the next round of the men's 110 meter hurdles, winning his heat in 13.75

Johnson and Theisen are throwing the discus now.

in heat 3 of the men's 110 hurdles, Maurice Lyke ran a pretty good race and was 4th in 14.06, top 3 automatically advance to the next round, plus the next 9 fastest times, so Maurice has a good shot to advance to tomorrow
