I had the same experience with her regarding basketball attendance during Bird's years ..........I've been one of the first to be critical of how long it took Terre Haute and ISU to understand what they had back in the late 1970's. Attendance of 7000 - 8000 per game in some of those early games was a disgrace.
But in communicating with Andi about BB attendance during her "reign" she told me ISU never had a sellout, even when Larry was there. Of course I have vivid memories of some of those top games, especially during Larry's senior year -- like people hanging all over each other and standing all around the concourse and at the top of Hulman Center at his last home game in the MVC tournament -- an announced crowd of 10,500 + (which I'd put at around 11,000 actually).
But Andi was certain that never actually happened...

The 2010-11 MBB lists 4 home games during Bird's SR Season that were not 'sell-outs'; the opener vs. Lawrence, conf games with Tulsa & Wichita State and No Carolina A&T. I think the Tulsa and NC A&T games were near/during Christamas break, weather also played a role.
The 'hard part' with sell-outs is how are they defined?
Sell every seat (10,200?) or turnstile count? MANY of the home games are listed as 'sold-out' with fewer than 10,200 in attendance; just as several are listed as 'sold-out' with MORE than 10,200 in attendance.
