Does anyone have any incite on when they plan on doing the upper seats in the Hulman Center? I love the Hulman Center but it's very painful to see those macaroni and cheese seats. I can't take it anymore!:verysad:

Probably when they start regularly selling them out... The way it is they are empty and simply ugly to look at. You don't buy new seats just for the heck of it, what would be the point of that? If know one is going to sit in them then who really cares what they look like? Fill the place up on a regular basis then they will buy new seats.

Overall appearance will also fill some seats. Im not saying those seats are keeping people out but it might draw some in...if that makes sense.

The current strategy of the athletic department is to maintain what we have for the next several years before we start making any capital improvements or new construction.
So we won't see a new track or football facility soon. New seats in Hulman Center would also be contrary to the current budget plan.

Plan is to hopefully start track/soccer construction within a year and have it ready in 2 years.

I don't see what the big deal is about the color of the seats. Empty seats are empty seats.

But fortunately that is changing and soon (like Wed night) you won't have to worry about it cuz there'll be people in those seats!

Along the lines of upper level seats, I thought this was a pretty good promotion that CU was doing...

...seems like it could possibly work for ISU as well? It's along the lines of what some of you suggested in the recent past. Two seats for $10 in the upper bowl. It's better than having those seats be empty and you get a little bit of money out of the deal. Maybe you get some borderline fans in the game to watch the Syc's and they like what they see...those people may just get season tickets the following year.

Something like that makes sense to me. The more people in HC the better. I guess the down side is making the people who paid full price for those tickers (maybe as season ticket holders) angry. I still think the more seats sold and filled the better for all concerned--better atmosphere and more exposure for the program.

Don't look now but there are MANY things going on from the athletic department marketing-wise. It may not be lowering the price like CU did to $10 for two etc. but quietly tickets are getting distributed. 3-4 games ago, I had several friends that had access to MANY tickets being distributed by some company. Somebody on SP mentioned yesterday that another company apparently had bought 4000 tickets for the WSU game and of course, the Bally has bought 1000 for the drake game (the out-of-towner's game) and last but not least, serve-pro has bought "the house" for the last game of the season. those pre-paid promotions will help their attendence big time in the remain few games. instead of simply lowering he price, they selling in bulk so it would appear. bottom line, good work marketing people~~

Not sure that is true for a new track.
Probably so for the Football Stadium.

That's where I think this is a good opportunity...you don't offer this until the last 6 games of the season...especially if those seats are regularly empty anyway. Find a way to try and make a little bit of coin and get a few more people in the door to cheer on the Syc's/Jays (likely making it a better atmosphere for all) during the last few home games of the season. I don't think season ticket holders would be too upset about the bargain basement prices if the atmosphere is better and it potentially rings in more season ticket holders for the following season.
