Interesting little article. Sounds like D2 collegiate sports are still collegiate sports and not the minor leagues. I might have to start following that level of play a lot closer.

If the NCAA dissolves and a new basketball organization forms, D2 and D3 are in trouble unless they have additional funding sources to draw from. March Madness also funds millions for those two including paying for all of their championships, conference and team payments, grants, etc.

I would imagine a large chunk of what supports all of the other sports and lower levels will go into that revenue sharing for the basketball athletes so they may be on borrowed time.

My guess is that most of D2 and D3 would move over to the NAIA in a worst case scenario.

There you go again... absolutely NOTHING to add except facts, common sense and logic -- that line of thinking has NO PLACE on a forum such as this one!

It's a good article, but also not exactly enlightening I guess?

It pretty much lays out that D2 colleges aren't seeing a ton of NIL related activities (and the associated headaches), but that's pretty much for the same reason that Terre Haute North or Sullivan High School don't have a ton of issues with NIL.

D2 also has 800 kids in the transfer portal. They're looking to move up and get NIL money.
