From the Dunleavy stepping down at Quinnipiac to take a General Manager of Basketball position at Villanova:

At Villanova, Dunleavy will support Men’s Head Coach Kyle Neptune and Women’s Head Coach Denise Dillon in managing a myriad of responsibilities that impact both programs, including opportunities and education around Name, Image and Likeness; the transfer portal; student-athlete brand-building and marketing; and advancing institutional fundraising in partnership with University Advancement. The General Manager will report directly to the Vice President and Director of Athletics.

“The dramatic changes in college basketball over the past several years have brought new challenges and forced us to collectively think differently,” said Villanova AD Mark Jackson. “I believe the creation of the GM role, particularly with Baker at the helm, positions Villanova well competitively for the future. It will allow Villanova to be even more forward-thinking and bring an innovative and seasoned perspective to the ever-evolving college basketball landscape. Most of all, Baker is a wonderful person and a great Villanovan. We’re thrilled to welcome him, Chrissi and their four daughters back to Villanova.”

Reading between the lines, I'd be this position will also essentially be the bridge between the school and the collectives, too.

Have to wonder what kind of cap space this GM will have at a franchise like 'Nova; the Big East isn't the NBA but it's ~the G-League

If you see that other thread, they're claiming the top collectives are sitting on $2.5m and MMs are about 10% of that or so. Likely means low majors are even a smaller fraction of that if they don't have history or significant fan bases. There are also a handful of schools out there still with no collective.

NIL is going to kill some schools, kill some conferences - just a matter of time
