The Tribune-Star tripped over the story about the closest No. 1 Seed-No. 16 Seed game in NCAA tournament history by failing to mention that Murray State, the No. 16 seed in the 1990 NCAA tournament which lost to No. 1 seed Michigan State in overtime, was coached by former ISU star (and Terre Haute native) Steve Newton.

This may start a discussion, but I am TOTALLY against seeding. It is "ok" in a conference if everyone plays a complete round robin. But otherwise I say draw them out of a hat.
I like it when they say Upstart State has never won an NCAA game. Well seed any team 16th every year and see how many times they make it to the final four.
