Anyone read in Saturday's Trib-Star where LFer Moore was thanking the coaching staff for helping him REFINE his OFing skills? Must be referencing last weekend's Washington Husky series:

Wonder if they've touched on any of the following:
1) Skills in
tracking a ball hit behind him - L & R shoulder? How to maximize your 1st step
laterally?
2) When to "charge" a ground ball in the OF v. "protecting" from a bad hop?
3) How to set for a tag up catch & throw to the IF, providing CUTOFF opportunity?
4) How to "read" hitters, basically examining swing profiling (grounder/liners/flies) and footwork (open or closed stance)?
5) Situational "thinking" BEFORE receiving the ball (where to throw if caught in the air or ground ball)?
6) Programming the HISTORY of each hitter in a game v. a pitcher?
7) HOW TO USE YOUR GLOVE TO SHIELD YOUR EYES IN CATCHING A FLY BALL (see Sunday's 6th inning error by LFer Moore and subsequent similar blunder by Ayers in CF, allowing the tie run to score).
Not easy to mentally program all this in a couple years...practice & game.
