Hope this adds another chip on their shoulders, and they prove that they should've hosted.

Heck of a regular season.

Plausible that the NCAA also took note of previous administration debacle of the Super Regional - and said, no thanks…

Ulterior motive probably more of a conspiracy theory at this point either way - they just didn’t buy the resume. Incorrectly. But we’ve been here.

1st we get screwed out of hosting but now I’m just waiting for them to back the bus up on us and send us to Kentucky or Tennessee for “ geographical reasons”. If there is any justice we should be playing at Arizona, UCSB, or ECU.

To be honest, I didn't really think we had much of a shot if we didn't win the MVC tournament, since the MVC was weaker than usual (ranked 11th). Getting blown out against Vanderbilt, Illinois, and IU were big negatives on our resume. Southern Miss was probably the best team we played this year and they beat us 2 out of 3. I'm not sure if Clinkscales lost his spot on the selection committee after ISU fired him, but obviously he wasn't there to vouch for us again either.

UCSB definitely bumped us after they won both the Big West regular season and tournament championships. ECU's resume was similar to ours, but they beat UNC 2 out of 3 who is currently ranked #7, as well as NC State in a midweek game who is hosting. Arizona getting to host was a little questionable since their RPI is only 31st, but winning both the Pac 12 (ranked 6th conf.) regular season and tournament titles got them the nod. AZ was ranked 21st in last week's poll, one spot below ISU and they outperformed us.

You left out the part about us beating Indiana, Illinois, Purdue twice. Not to mention Louisville, Connecticut, and Southern Miss once. ECU lost to Southeastern Louisiana, Old Dominion, UTSA 2/3, Florida Atlantic, Charlotte, swept by Tulane and lost 2 to Wichita and got North Carolina at home for 1 and at a neutral field for 1. Their RPI was 22nd and ISU was 10. They played 30 home games and ISU played 18.

Also, the MVC was rated ahead of the AAC.

not buying this for a second.

Indiana State: RPI 10, 42-13, SOS 75, non-con SOS 19, Q1 3-6, Home 16-2, Road 17-9, N 9-2. MVC Champs = #11 conference. worse loss = home vs. 134 Missouri State.

Arizona: RPI 31, 36-21, SOS 31, non-con SOS 1, Q1 3-9, Home 19-7, Road 13-11, N 4-3. PAC 12 champs (x2) = #6 conference. worse loss = @ 219 Loyola Marymount.

UCSB: RPI 13, 42-12, SOS 100, non-con SOS 127, Q1 3-3, Home 25-0, Road 16-12, N 1-0. Big West Champs = #13 conference. (Big West doesn't have a tournament). worse loss = @ 270 Pepperdine. Somehow at the end of the year UCSB shot up the RPI ranks after playing series against the 262, 92, 273, and 137 ranked teams.

ECU: RPI 22, 43-15, SOS 71, non-con SOS 9, Q1 5-2, Home 26-4, Road 13-9, N 4-2, AAC champs = #12 conference. worse loss = home vs. 147 South Florida. Ended the year getting swept by 86 Tulane and going 7-7 and not making the AAC championship game

Good morning! Our Sycamores are about to get an at large bid for the NCAA Baseball tournament. Pretty damn cool. Teams in the Valley would kill for this opportunity
I refuse to have someone (the NCAA) piss on my leg and tell me it's raining, then act like everything is sunshine and rainbows.

Life is a bitch sometimes. Of course it sucks. But gotta man up and get ready for regionals. Now if they get sent to Lexington or Knoxville then you have a really strong case to be super pissed at the NCAA

I thought to myself while attending the TH Regional last how special it was. When we beat Iowa back to back nights, we left there feeling on top and thought, we may never get the chance to host again (we had never in the past before last year).
Then, this years team goes out and plays a fantastic season putting themselves in position to host again.

No matter way you slice it, this is devastating to the team, University recognition, and community support.

We have been absolutely dragged through the mud with some of the most brilliant Sycamores sports team of all time.

Cherry on top is outside of Lexington, attending all the other host sites is not easy travel (I’m not considering Knoxville…no way we get sent to #1 overall).

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm just telling y'all why those three schools were chosen to host over us. I'm not going to debate this. You can cherry pick whatever data you want when it comes to resumes to make it favor ISU, but it doesn't change reality, and I'm just explaining how they came up with their decision. It sucks we weren't chosen to host, but it is what it is.

ECU didn't win their conference tournament either. they didn't even make the championship and the American was ranked #12

UCSB didn't play in the Big West tournament because....the Big West didn't have a tournament. Big West is ranked is ranked #13

But you didn't explain how they came up with their decision. You told us your opinion not facts. Let's compare 5 schools. Oregon State, Arizona, UCSB, ECU, and Indiana State and see where you think we are lacking.

Our RPI is ranked 10, compared too 13, 18, 22, 31. So RPI didn't keep us from hosting

MVC is ranked 11, American 12, Big West 13, Pac12 6. so conference strength didn't keep us from hosting

Indiana State has 3-4 Q1 record compared too 3-3, 3-9, 4-3, and 5-2. So Q1 wins didn't keep us from hosting

Our SOS is ranked 74 compared too 31, 71, 78, 100. So SOS didn't keep us from hosting

Our non-con SOS is #19 (17-6) compared too #9 (21-5), #127 (16-8), #1 (13-10), #78 (22-3) so that didn't keep us from hosting

The only aspect where one team between ECU, UCSB, Oregon State and Arizona out performed us is Arizona winning both Pac12 reg and conference titles. Here is how the teams faired:

Indiana State #11 MVC reg season title by 5 games. 3-2 in conference tourney, lost in championship round
UCSB #13 Big West reg season title by 4 games. No Big West tourney
ECU #12 AAC reg season title by 2 games. 3-2 in conference tourney, lost in semi-finals
Oregon State #6 PAC12 .5 games back from title. 1-1 in conference tournament
Arizona #6 PAC12 reg season champs by .5 games. 3-1 in conference tournament; champions

Then you throw in "record away from home" for good measure and you get

ISU: 26-11, UCSB: 17-12, ECU: 17-11, Arizona: 17-14, Oregon State: 18-12

Please tell me where any of these 4 schools deserve to host over us. The ONLY argument is Arizona winning both Pac12 titles to the #6 conference; but then they have by far the worst RPI to negate that.
