It's also payback for last year. I was at that game in Normal and if we had a kicking game at the time, there is no doubt we would have won. Let's take care of business this year and show them we deserve to be no. 1!
 
Updated the stats in the 2nd post. Illinois State comes in with the 10th ranked defense in FCS. Should be a slobberknocker. We have, however, a 10ppg advantage in scoring defense.

Defense, no turnovers, control the clock and limit big chunk plays and we're going to the playoffs.

I'll be in terre haute on Saturday, sitting in the school of Ed all day. I've made the 3 hour drive this year on game days and been stuck in the school of Ed checking the score on my iPad.

I think I might be at this game. I'll be back in Terre Haute for the men's basketball exhibition game on Thursday night and will be in town through Sunday afternoon.
 
I will be at the Youngstown game. It's difficult to make it ISU for games from Pittsburgh, but I am making the hour plus journey to Youngstown. Let me know if any of you plan to be there.

I'm planning on making the drive to Youngstown with 2-3 others. I'm sure some of the other faithful will be there as well. I'm counting on a big win this weekend and then witnessing a Conference Championship at Youngstown!

As for this weekend, are the storms out east supposed to have any effect on this weekend's weather in TH? Right now it looks like it will be 55 and sunny, which isn't bad at all for a November game.

I am currently in the process of trying to get "permission" to go to the YSU game. Do we have any sponsors like a jewelry shop or auto dealer that could get me a deal on a gift for my wife?

This is another one of the administrative and student organization gaffes that I was talking to with an alum about this weekend. He was there without his wife and their normal crew because her sorority (Zeta Tau Alpha) decided to schedule their Founder's Day Events during the football game. I know you won't ever stop it fully, but at least a polite request to not schedule during home football weekends would be a good start. I'd be curious to see if similar things are scheduled at other schools across Indiana.

Would be an even bigger bonus to have the event and make the game part of the festivities for those interested.
 
Back to the game, we'll be trying to avenge a 17-14 loss at their place from last year. Obviously if we're going to have a change to win, we can't commit 11 penalties and turn the ball over. Our defense is improved this year and I don't know much about the Redbirds from this year aside from what I've read and their box scores.

Looks to me like the Sycamores need to find a way to stop Matt Brown. He's ranked 26th in the country in total offense for the Redbirds, accounting for 260 yards per game. Tyrone Walker is 23rd in the country in receiving yards per game and Dunn ranks 37th in the country with 714 yards rushing and 11 TDs.
 
Our special teams, or lack thereof, was the difference last year. I believe it will be the difference this year as well, although this time in our favor.
 
Just realized they are 4th in the country in sacks. Connor Underwood's brother Colton is having a monster year for the Redbirds. Has 78 tackles, 16.5 for loss and 8.5 sacks on the year.
