No way will the Sycamores beat the Jackrabbits next weekend if they play offensively like they did today. Hopefully the offense has a sharp week of practice because the Jacks will be coming to Terre Haute in desperation mode likely needing to win their final 3 to make the playoffs. Their QB Sumner returned today after having been out since the season opener against Missouri. Will be imperative to get pressure on him and limit Zenner as much as possible.

The next two games are going to be extremely difficult. South Dakota State and Youngstown State are two very good teams. We can only afford to lose one, and even then we'd have to win on the road against WIU in Macomb. I'm going to try hard though not to look ahead during the game next week. Just hope we can pull off another one. All three of our Valley games at home this year have been decided by a late field goal. Not real encouraging.

We have to be ready for this game. If sdsu loses they're eliminated from the playoffs. We WILL get their best effort for sure. They gave ndsu a pretty good scare today. Game was much closer than the final score. Be ready ISU

I firmly believe that we are in the playoffs with 7 wins.

With that being said, we only need to win 1 game in 3 trys. If our recent history says anything it aint looking pretty for us.

Lets go sycamores and finish the season strong!!!!!!!!

but what favors us if we are on the bubble at the end of season are the ranked teams we beat, a FBS win....AND the conference going 23-1 against all other FCS conference competition.

Sure is nice having Big Games in November!

As I said on another thread, who would have thought that on November 8, we would still have a shot at the school record for wins in a season? Not too many of us on here.

But I get ahead of myself...1-0 this week is all that matters!!!

The mvfc is just too strong as a conference to leave out a team with 7 wins and with our non-com performance there is no way we get left out.

According to the sagarin ratings before this week, there was less of a difference between the SEC and the MVFC then the MVFC and the next FCS conference. Let that sink in.

Now we still have to win or all this talk is worthless. 1-0 this week!

Once again, as it is every week, THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR!!!

THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR.............AGAIN and the next one and the one after that. As Coach Sanford has said "every week is a play-off game for us". Thinking the team believes and best continue to believe that.

I only got to see the first half of the game yesterday on SycamoreVision. Have the number of screens we've been running decreased over the past few weeks? I know one got picked (and over turned by the roughing call). Was there another instance of throwing to a back on a screen yesterday in the second half?

If you look at recent history, not many 7-5 MVC teams have made it in. Think 7-5 is a long shot.

I don't think we're firmly in, but I don't know how they can take some of the teams ahead of us. Do yourself a favor and go look at their schedules. The MVFC had never dominated in the non-conference like they did this year, either.

I've become convinced that the MVFC brass isn't particularly effective at "selling" our teams to the selection committee. I'd feel a lot better at 8-4 than I would at 7-5. Of course, 9-3 makes us a stone cold lock.

At 8-4, we're a 100% lock with the full D1 schedule, FBS win and having multiple top 25 wins. At 9-3, we should have a first round home playoff game and be a top seed. As for selling, I don't think we've had a year like this prior, have we?

My point is, either the Valley is the strongest conference or it isn't. You have all of these rankings (Massey, Sagarin, GPI) that say it is and you go 23-1 against FCS in non-conference play so you must reward every team that has 7 D1 wins. If you look at remaining schedules, it is likely that there will only be 5 Valley teams with 7 or more D1 wins. You reward all 5. Otherwise, we need to schedule home/homes with the worst in FCS to pad win totals like all of these other conferences have on top of the fact they don't play anyone IN conference. There are 4 good conferences in FCS and the rest are shit -- Valley, Big Sky, CAA and Southland.
