That's cool. Thanks for sharing this. I always heard center field was deep, but man that would be a bomb.
My Freshman year the old Memorial Stadium baseball bleachers were still being used for football. Yeah, I know....I'm old as dirt.......LOL

When were the bleachers removed from the hill side? They were still there in the 80's when I was on campus.

Sorry don't know how it got, slip of the finger
It was a outstanding stadium in the day...watched the Terre Haute "Phillies" play there, but the big draw was the Turkey-day football games between Garfield and Wiley or Gerstmeyer high.
Also note, few people know that in the winter the animals from the Demming Park Zoo was housed under the stands. And the "Miners Picnic" was a must for locals. The golf course was a "par three" type thing, but very well used and full on Saturdays,,,, always.
