After looking at last years team and this year team I've concluded that are go to guy has to be Carl. I think that he is most effective if we have jp at the 2 and dwayne at the 3 bc jp makes his man have to guard him around the 3 point line. Dwayne's man has to stay on him so Dwayne doesn't slip off and get a dunk. Jake's man won't let him drive and walker ias taking up space with his man. That leaves Carl to do the most work since he can hit 3s and play with his back to the basket. I know he hasn't been at his best bc of his back but when you think about it he carried the team through a handful of games last year and I think he can do it this year. I think Lansing should run more plays for him. Yes we try to play inside out but I've notice that we try to do it with Walker and not so much Carl.

He sure was "in the flow" Wed. night...could be that w/ Gant & Kitch getting greater minutes and reducing the all-around burden, CR's playing more loose. At any rate, if he can stay "in the flow," it'll sure add to ISU's prospects finishing out the regular season MVC & "Arch Madness."

Easy to say after his best game in a long time but I'd have to see more from CR consistently in order to consider him our go to guy. It would be great to see him step up and have a tunnell like end to his career where he just carries the team but i'd just take him playing well consistently at this point. If we got rock solid play out of carl and a couple other guys to go along with Odum we will be a much better team down the stretch.

So who is your go to guy at this time?

I don't think we have one consistently from game to game. It's whoever is open on a given possession. Odum will find him and give it to him where he needs it to score. Like someone else said, when ISU has players working hard to get open, they're a much better team.

I think too much is being made of the "go-to guy." We've had them when we've been awful and not had them when we've been highly successful. Yes, it would be nice to have one (more than one!!!), but they can do as much harm as good if they're shut down and everyone else is used to leaning on them and them alone to get it done. We just need to play better and more consistently.

Yes! Ideally everyone on the floor when we are in this type of situation has the potential to be the "go to" guy and working to get open. If this is not the case for right now, we are in trouble. If this is happening I like our chances.
