It looks like the OVC may be trying to add the West Georgia Wolves which currently play in D2's Gulf South Conference. UWG is about an hour east of where former member Jacksonville State is located. They would give the OVC 11 full members and would be the OVC's 7th football member. My guess is that the OVC is trying to get back up to 12 full-members, with 8 of those having football.

Missouri State also had a meeting, but it appears they will be staying in the MVC for a while longer, unless the Sun Belt becomes interested. Their AD Kyle Moats claims the meeting was not about any FBS interests. MSU reportedly turned down a CUSA invite last year.

Beginning to think ISU's complacency and lack of any apparent planning or long-term vision may work out, as more of the better funded teams at our level move up and more D2 teams replace them in the mid-majors.

I'm really confused ....I know ..... I know
First I read Missouri State is looking at going FBS. Don't know why, they have had no major success at FCS. But OK
Now I read they might jump down to the OVC .....down to the OVC. What ? Why ?
Talk about schzoid -- what am I missing ???

Missouri State is not moving to the OVC. It's just one article that has a piece about West Georgia possibly moving up to D1 (OVC) and a piece about MSU having an athletics meeting and the AD claiming that it had nothing to do with moving to FBS. Two separate stories in one article.

not sure success is a always a factor for teams moving to FBS

I think ISU's vision has always been "look at all of the good teams that we play (that also kick our rears) every season", while proudly waving their MVC flag. A lot of other teams in our league seem to have that same mindset and they've depended on Creighton, Wichita State, North Dakota State, Dallas Baptist, and Loyola to keep the league nationally relevant. Now the league is betting on Murray State and Belmont to continue carrying the torch of relevancy.

If they knew that NDSU and SDSU were going to leave in football when they got a reasonable FBS offer Id be ok sticking around doing what they are doing for now.

No. Dakota State isn't an MVC member, Dallas Baptist was an associate (DBU is now a an associate/affiliate member of the C-USA's baseball lineup); does DBU have another program at the Div I level? It's baseball and...

No - he was dropping his typical harrangue about the MVC but included a non-MVC member (No. Dakota St) and a former MVC associate/affiliate member.

The rest of the teams were full (former) MVC members but if he's going to wear out the keyboard than add ALL of the former MVC members - 25 schools have left the MVC for another "home," 13 associate schools have left...

yeah but I think the conference has been doing that with the teams he mentioned aside from NDSU and it still fits his narrative in the football conference. Calling it the MVC isnt any worse than referring to either conference as the Missouri Valley. I think we could figure out if we are talking about the MVC, the MVFC or a location around a river.

Joe was a Realtor in Dale/ Christmas Lake Village in the late 80's when I hired & trained him for the U.S. Census in Warrick/Spencer County. Sadly, he passed away a few yrs. ago. His boys played in LL Baseball tournaments against my nephews from Boonville. Helluva nice guy.

Pictures of the logos below which look strikingly similar too. If they're truly different leagues maybe the MVC should sue the MVFC for copying their name and their logo.

See the similarities???

Why don't you call Patty Viverito and ask her if she has one job or two?

Just because YOU think something looks similar doesn't mean it's the same.

Patty V is literally listed on the MVC Staff Page with the Title "MVFC Commissioner". She was also the associate MVC Commissioner for a very long time. Why is she even listed on that page at all if the MVFC is a totally separate entity? The answer is because it's not. The MVFC is owned by the MVC.

You need to apologize to Ms. Viverito, she's also the Pioneer Football League (PFL) Commissioner, I don't think she's stepped down from her role as an Associate Commissioner for the MVC.

As much as I'm sure it pains you to realize you're (again, still, perpetually) wrong, the following is true.

Enjoy hauling load after load of contaminated soil from East Palestine to the nearest soil remediation facility - hasn't the old Newport site transitioned into one?

I think almost everyone on this message board understands that legally the MVC and MVFC are not the same conference. That's obviously not the point. Apparently you just can't put two and two together.
