For what little it's worth, there is a quick "Indiana State University" reference in the first episode of Season 2 of Ozark.

I saw that the other night and almost posted something similar. I’ve never been so proud to have a fictitious money launderer for the Mexican drug cartel be from my alma mater.

Law & Order

One of the episodes in the original show had a girl from Terre Haute going to school in NYC. No surprise here--she was found dead in the opening. Her parents upon comping to NYC to ID their daughter, and the father said something like this: We wanted her to go to Indiana State. They have a good MBA program there.

I remember several instances of ISU getting some free pub in tv shows and movies. I think it was an episode of ER when a kid was trying to decide where to go to college and one of the doctors said, “You should check out Indiana State. They have a great pre-med program.”

Then there was a Kevin Kline movie, “In & Out,” where he was a high school teacher and his best student was desperately trying to get into Indiana State, and at the end of the movie, he gets in (yay!!!) and Kline says “Indiana State is getting a great kid!”

I thought for years we must have had an alum writing scripts in Hollywood. Too many ISU mentions to be coincidence.

There was another episode where the victim (or her sister who was trying to steal her identity) was from Terre Haute. They never mentioned ISU, but I do remember a line where they accuse her of killing her sister and one of the detectives says "is that how they treat people in Terre Haute?"

Also have had a few references to the federal prison in Terre Haute over the years.

A Christmas Story: “The line stretched all the way to Terre Haute” and “A guy in Terre Haute won a bowling ally!”
Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid: “At least we got Terre Haute.”
Blues Brothers: “Can’t be as bad as the cabbage rolls at the Terre Haute Federal Pen.”
In a random Miami Vice episode in the 80s one of the bad guys bets on Indiana State basketball.
Some Came Running was shot in and contains references to Terre Haute.
And, of course, The Drunk, which has recently been on Amazon Prime.

I noticed nobody has mentioned Dead Men Don't wear Plaid..

"Awww, and they just got a public library..."

I think I recently caught that episode... the girl was murdered... she'd been working/dancing at a club... or was that an episode of The Deuce?

Doesn't Dennis Quaid ask the other "Cutters" about 'driving over to Terre Haute'?

There is the Cheers episode where Woody talks about some relative moving to the big city and how it chewed him up and spit him back out. The punchline is when he says it was Terre Haute.

Found this on Google. I'll trust it's accurate because I don't remember the episode well enough.
"I'll never forget when my uncle Orlo left Hanover to seek his fortune in the big city. Terre Haute just chewed him up and spit him out."
