Pedro Borbon, Reds star, dead at 65

Pedro Borbon, a mainstay in the Big Red Machine, lost his battle with cancer. I remember him entirely too well--at that time I was a Dodgers fan.

The iconic RELIEF man...someone that was RELIABLE day to day (compared to today's "relief by committee" managing approach once the starter has been pulled)...ISU relief pitchers should be required to study the dynamics of Borbon, just to get an idea of the consumate fireman.

Borbon was awesome. Of course the machine was too.

I was an 11 year old Dodgers fan when they moved to LA. This thread and my comments were intended to pay respect to Borbon--not start a war of words over rivalries. Lighten up please.
