IMO the BIGGEST change WRT the IndyStar was the Pulliam clan selling to Gannett.
Gannett restructred (fired all of the reporters) and you have what you have today. Garbage.
I also think a fundamental change for us WRT Indianapolis, was IUPUI.
Look at the enrollment numbers from the 1950s - 1960s; growth, growth and growth.
We'd "lost" ISU-M in 1961 when they received their own trustees; we're
"forced" to start ISU-E; IUPUI and IPFW both 'start' in 1969 and 1964 respectively.
