Sycamore

The Blue Level
Pro day was yesterday Thursday, March 19. Does anyone know how the sycamores performed. I can't imagine there was any scouts to see any of the sycamores. I think the seniors have bright futures off the field, but no way playing football.

i dont know how many scouts were there yesterday, but....

from what i know of the nfl, scouts go and check out every school that plays football. now there may not be a gaggle of scouts from each team, but usually there are scouts from one of the scouting organizations.

for those who don't know, each team has area and national scouts. and then there is an outside scouting organization that most teams use to supplement their own information.

if they come across a player that intrigues them, they sometimes invite them to work out at pro days at bigger schools.

Apparently there were only a "handful" of scouts, none of whom spoke to any of the players. Our coaches did the timing, and the conditions were supposedly very poor (a lot of slipping on both the starts and in the shuttle). All of the players (not just the Seniors) went through the drills, which didn't include all of the drills usually done at pro days and the combine (i.e., no weights, no vertical...). I think there were also 1 or 2 players from other schools that attended.

new....

yeah...that's usually how it goes...they test everybody....just to keep an eye on developing younger players primarily...especially if there isn't any seniors or juniors worth taking a longer look at....

probably just area scouts from teams and maybe a scouting service guy....
