other than the fact that....

the mvc and the missouri valley football conference are headquarted in the same building....have the same people working in the main office....and the mvc football commissioner is the assistant commissoner of the mvc....but other than that...there is absolutely no connection.....lol....

I made this comment in another thread but it was never commented on. Why does the MVFC have the same commissioner as does the PFL. The comment bringing this to the attention of those on this board who were unaware of it, was based of the comment that Butler would not play us. Anyway, it would seem that the mvc, mvfc and pfl all have connections.
 
Saturday, Sept. 10th 2011 we are scheduled to play Butler...that's one (1) week after we are scheduled to play Penn St.
 
sycamore tuff.....

the missouri valley conference football schools give scholarships...the pioneer league teams do not.....both fall under the asuspices of assistant mvc commissioner patty viverito....

If we stay on the recruiting pace we're on right now that should be a 40-point blow out in our favor. I would love that. I'm not as optimistic about our chances against Penn State.

Bent,

It would be a 40 point blowout in our favor now and would have been for the last 4 years as well.

If we played Butler every year, we would not have the losing streak(s) that we do. They are terrible!!!!!!

Actyually we do play Creighton our womens team has played them several times and the last years game was in Fargo, a 51-40 loss. Our mens team has not, but i hear rumblings of several MVC games in the near future :bigsmile:

ISUCC i don't understand how you figure there is zero in common between the Missouri Valley Conference and the Missouri Valley Football Conference??? but whatever, I have a feeling its got something to do with being associated with North and South Dakota State, which is really dumb if you would do some reasearch on our universities you would find they are VERY respected, I understand the BBall side has a long ways to go to be at the caliber of the MVC or Horizon league teams but give us time, plans are in the works for a 30million dollar addition to the Fargodome for a new BBAll arena which will really jump start our BBAll, along with 26 conference Championships and 8 National Titles in Football our ladies BBall has a strong history with 5 National Championships 3 of the coming in 1995, 96,97 I know they were all College division and DII but its still TRADITION that has brought in several of our recruits the last 2 years that I think will be outstanding players in both football and BBall, NDSU has a little bit of an edge on SDSU as we are located in a bigger population base Fargo and surrounding area (250,000) Brookings, SD (15,000) which is a little high I think.

Anyway congrats on the new QB again I'll leave you guys alone now ;)

I've been reading this board for awhile now but for some reason it made me signup to read so I did.....

I know players at both of these schools. A 40 point blowout is not going to happen. Butler went 6-5 this year after going (0-11), (3-8), and (4-7) the years before so there are not "terrible". I know people look down on their conference but they have players in that league go to the NFL too. There are three in the last two years and one WR from the PFL just signed with the Colts so their not devoid of talent. I think it's stupid to say who will beat who based on common opponents so we'll just have to wait till 2010!!

Butler is getting better, I will give you that. They wouldn't be within 25 points of any team in the MVFC. It's a step down.......

I give props to Butler for the improvement though.... It's never easy at that level (Non-Scholarship)
