Question about "Hiding Threads"

First of all, I'd like to thank whoever hid the "NFL DRAFT KISS" thread from me...I'm being sincere...I was real tired of seeing that thread in Sycamore Pride....so, I'm not sure if I was banned from it, and that's how it disappeared from Sycamore Pride, or if it was "hidden" from me, or what...but however it happened, thank you.

Which leads to my question...

If there is a thread that I care absolutely nothing about whatsoever, is there a way for me to hide it from the "Current Discussons" area on the right hand side of the main page? Often there are political or social discussions taking place, that I don't like to participate in, and it'd be nice to not have to see the thread appear on my screen. I like to read and talk about ISU sports.

It's not hidden, I just moved it to the politics forum. I didn't realize it wasn't in there as I had been browsing the site from my phone the last couple days and today was the first day I was at the computer.
