This ought to help with scheduling in the future also. :sycamores:

The BCS / FBS schools couldn't care less where we're ranked; if ANYTHING, it might HURT us. After all, any BCS/FBS school that loses to a FCS school is bad; the rankings rarely assuage the bent noses of the BCS/FCS fans.

Haven't met a UM fan YET who said, OK, OK, Appy State WAS a good team...
they're were just PO'd that they lost to anyone; appy state made it worse. The fact that appy state was/IS a damn good, FCS school didn't rate with UM fans.

Agreed...It will help in recruiting more than anything, not scheduling.

Would feel better if the other D-1 teams in Indiana weren't so awful. Indiana has become the Northwestern of the Big 10, and Purdue is now the Indiana - the two perennial doormats. No opposing fans, other than some Indiana State fans, even realize Ball State has a football team. In short, it's nice, but let's not worry about them. Anyone with sense realizes no schools in Indiana, outside of Notre Dame, which considers South Bend to be some mythological place like Atlantis, has a decent football team.

On a side note, Idaho State is 2-2 and beat Northern Colorado at home 50-20 the weekend before last. They lost 20-3 to Northern Arizona this past weekend. Why do I bring them up? Because they are the other ISU who had a long stretch of losing in football. A couple of years ago we were tied with them for the longest losing streak in the nation.

Yeah, but those Bengals have an NCAA National Title in football and several conference titles...

Anyone think it's 'ironic' that all four of the ISUs have middling football 'pedigrees?'
