Schedule Change: Remaining Weekend Games Part Of DH Today Due To Weather

The remaining two games against Utah Valley will be played as part of a doubleheader to be played today starting at 2:00 (ET) due to the potential for snow Sunday.

Too many "gopher balls" (Keaffaber has 4!) & only two (2) DP's indicate pitches UP IN THE ZONE! Other thoughts on our STATS so far:

1) Still too many LOB's (ISU 60 v. OPP 40)...been a problem in Hannah's career @ ISU. For some reason, he's afraid to play "small ball" even though ISU has the capability w/ above avg. team speed.

2) Can't waste much more time on Zahn @ 1B...now in his 6th season, has under a .200 BA. While he's got a nice glove, the bat's gotta do more talking.

3) Dungan @ 2B is also under .200 - time to give Brimbury a chance. I was impressed w/ the kids bat control and footwork around 2B last yr. prior to his RS. Might have to rotate Dungan/Ayers in LF.

4) We'll see what Tiegs does w/ the pitching staff - don't hold your breath. Too bad that Keaffaber doesn't have more velocity in which to contrast his breaking pitches. Hard to get a batter on his "heels" w/o the heat...but I'd take Rhino as a PITCHING COACH over Tiegs any day because he knows the cognitive mechanics of HOW TO PITCH.

That "hot sauce" northbound traffic on I-15 might help keep the field dry...:tumbleweeds: Surprised that Pres. Bradley & his wife never setup a "Sycamore Sanctuary" recruiting booth along the inter-state hwy, w/ Mrs. Bradley using her special recipe ( Polvorones de Canele, aka cinnamon cookies) to entice the travelers to Terre Haute!
