We're under two weeks... just 11 days and change until Sycamore football! It's time to start talking about this game, so be sure to check out the St. Joseph's Opponent Preview and let's get to discussing. Additionally, who all is going to be in attendance? I will be there in tow with my family and plan on doing some tailgating.

Jason,
Please check your link to the St. Joseph's site. It didn't work for me.
Thanks,

Looks like this is the link to their football site:

They only have ten teams scheduled according to their site. We're the lone Div. 1. I don't like the fact that they'll be playing a game before us since that gives them a game to get rid of any rust and jitters, but it is what it is. They play Saturday so maybe we will at least get a sense of how good they're going to be. Wonder if we'll have anyone there to do some scouting. It is a home game for them. Can't say I'm that familiar with the town of Rensselaer.

Looking at the rosters, we should dominate up front. They have a linman under 200lbs! I'm sure he doesn't play, but a lot of the rest are 250's-270's for the OL and the DL is smaller. We need to blow them up. That's where we should win the game.

Good observation about the lines. Judging by their '09 stats they're a running team (over 2,200 rushing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns). With our superior talent and size we should be able to control that element of their game, although their RB Banks had good numbers last year.

They play Valpo a couple weeks after State.

Don't forget, they have a game this week, so the staff will have a good idea of how they look this year, too. I'm hoping our offense comes out and makes a statement. This should be a great way to kick of 2010!

as a non football guy, obviously, I don't care how they win, just that they win, for the good of the university and its' fans/supporters.

I'll be there and looking forward to it. This is an opportunity for us to come out and take care of business and get a convincing W. Especially after having the ability to scout them the week prior. The main thing I'm hoping for is consistency. There'd be times when we'd be very effective for a few series and then go two quarters with no first downs last year. That can't happen if we're going to win some games this year.

we all would, but after last years' debacle against Quincy the team can't be overconfident by any means.

Be nice to see a crowd out there at some point this season like the crowd at the north-south game last night. Paper said there were over 10,000 fans there, is that right??

Love to see Indiana State make these guys 0-2.

Yes, there really was around 10,000 fans at the north-south game. I go every year and I can't say I have every seen that many people at the north-south game.
