How are Crews & Calbert Cheaney looking as coaches? Frankly, I'm surprised that Crews has taken the reins since Majerus' death (exactly 1 yr ago) and been so successful. I guess the accessibility to talent combined w/ a few of Rick's coaching secrets has helped him turn the corner following declining careers @ UE & Army. Didn't he also spend a year as asst. @ IL St? He's originally an IL kid, so I guess he's pretty much on his own turf.

He hasn't done so poorly over the years...........................his biggest downfall was "a failure to communicate" to the fans and sportswriters much like what caused another Bob Knight disciple, Bob Donewald at Illinois State to get his walking papers several years ago.

,One thing you learn as a successful leader/coach is to surround yourself with good people and for them to have different thinking/coaching patterns, styles and experiences to bring to the table/floor! Its my opinion that these two are so different in some ways but actually compliment each others and play to each others strengths and weaknesses. Pretty strong combination!
