Softball falls 10-2 in 6 innings at Illinois State. Early errors led to a hole, then a lack of hitting kept the Sycamores down. Here is Coach Coldren's quote from the Bloomington/Normal paper:
“(Smith) did a very good job of moving the ball around,” Sycamore coach Brenda Coldren said. “We did not make any adjustments offensively. That was our big downfall. We were swinging at the same pitches the third at bat as the first at bat.”
It is now off to Omaha to take on league leading Creighton for a 3 game series. ISU has had some success against the Bluejays of late, splitting a DH with the league champs last year in Terre Haute and taking 2 out of 3 in Omaha the year before. We will certainly need to play better on the road the rest of the season than we have of late.
