Softball opens its home schedule today with a conference DH with Drake beginning at 2pm. Drake fell 1-0 to Indiana yesterday in Bloomington and went 1-2 last weekend at Evansville in their conference series. They have a win this season over then #3 Michigan by a score of 2-0. Michigan is now ranked #6. ISU went 1-1 in their conference opening series last weekend at Missouri State - winning game 1 by a score of 1-0 and losing game 2 by a score of 2-1. Game 3 was cancelled due to weather. Missouri State went to Norman this Wednesday and beat #11 Oklahoma 3-2 with the pitcher throwing that our Sycamores beat last weekend. We outhit the Bears in both games (6-4 in Game 1 and 6-2 in Game 2) but only managed to split. Oklahoma (known to be one of the best hitting teams in the nation) only managed 4 hits off the Bears. Sycamore's swept by Drake, not even close really. Not a good start to the weekend.

Brutal day for the Sycamores. Lose Game 1 5-1 without allowing an earned run. Drop Game 2 by a score of 6-2, only allowing 2 earned runs. Really kicked it around on defense and couldn't get a timely hit. Looks to be a crazy year in the league as Creighton is the only unbeaten right now at 2-0; UNI only winless team at 0-3. Teams that swept last weekend are getting swept so far this weekend. Teams that lost series last weekend are winning them this weekend, etc.
