Some conference stats since I just did conference only PERS:
- W/L Pyth is 2.5-9.5 so we're about where we should be and with on 50/50 game. Makes sense.
- We've had about 20 more shot attempts but made about 20 fewer FGs than opponents in league play
- That equates to 3 less buckets per game overall but we do average 1.5 more 3FG makes than opponents.
- However, we need 7 more 3FG attempts than opponents per game to get that 1.5 make advantage.
- Opponents have shot about 90 more FTs than us -- about 9 more per game.
- Of those, we're at a -8 differential in made free throws per game in Valley play
- We're only -3 per game in OR differential so we've technically improved there.
- However, -9 rebound differential so that has actually increased.
- A/TO ratio is damn near identical for us and opponents. We had been +++ in non-conference there.
Some advanced metrics:
- We're averaging about 1.02 points per possession to opponents 1.16
- Our eFG% is 47.3% to opponents 50.9% -- modified FG% to take in effect the 3 point shot
- Our TO% is 18.3% to opponents 18.2% -- basically the # of turnovers per 100 plays
- Our OR% is 23.3% and DR% is 68.7%
- Our FTR is 32.3% and opponents is 46.1%
Where scoring/attempts come from:
- 42.7% of our scoring is 2FG
- 37.8% of our scoring is 3FG
- 19.4% of our scoring is FT
- 59.5% of attempts are 2FG
- 40.5% of attempts are 3FG
Where opponents scoring/attempts come from:
- 46.9% of their scoring is 2FG
- 27.9% of their scoring is 3FG
- 25.2% of their scoring is FT
- 68.4% of attempts are 2FG
- 31.6% of attempts are 3FG
TL;DR -- Live by the 3, die by the 3. We've died by it.
