The refs must not have been informed that all WSU guards are allowed to push with their off-hand to create space. Silly Canadians. Don't they know how these games are supposed to go?

In reading the write-up in the Wichita Eagle, WSU got beat at their own game. They got out-hustled, out-rebounded and couldn't match-up with Carleton physically. That's something to keep in mind as we get closer to the season - WSU may be missing that level of toughness we're so used to. With guys like Zach Brown and McDuffie as their leaders, who are guys that don't seem to love contact, Carleton may have given the rest of the MVC the blueprint for how to take down the Shockers.

Carleton is apparently really good, though. They've beaten Memphis, Baylor and Valpo in recent years. They also played under FIBA rules, which allows more contact and uses a 24-second shot clock.
 
Even though he is big money he may feel some wrath by the NCAA and the news media because he is still a mid-major coach. He is not Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina or even close to the level of those coaches to get away with this kind of crap. Hope he has a year like this ALL YEAR LONG......yes sir.
 
I think Greg Marshall will be cancelling that big family fishing trip every year in Canada.

All the Wichita $$$ & fame getting in the way of his common sense. He ain't no Bobby Knight and above the law of the land on the basketball court! Probably time for him to move to a bigger stage...........unless he waited a year too long; some do that you know?
 
I'll bet the Shox will be #1 or 2 in the MVC ... Marshall just "testing the water" in Canada. What else is to be gained by playing Canadian college no-names?

Didn't ISU go to Canada a few yrs. back?

You give him too much credit Bank..........he will gain nothing from this kind of crap....there is no positive spin at all.

The trip to the Toronto 'burbs is a learning experience in DIVERSITY alone. While the games sucked, I'm sure that the team experiences/exposure will help them grow. The Shox have a relatively "new" squad this season, losing significant leadership. These are opportunities for bonding, if anything else.
