State Budget Committee Oks revised student housing/retail project

Committee members endorsed a 30-year lease between Indiana State University and ThompsonThrift Development for construction of a five-story building to provide four floors of student housing with retail space on the ground floor.

That is great news for Terre Haute and ISU. Let's just hope that the group of downtown leaders don't try to block it because they are not going to save the fronts of the old buildings. That extra expense was one of the problems that state leaders had with the project. I for one can not wait to see the new drawings and plans for the development.
