“I’ll go to Indiana State and focus on academics. I want to earn a criminal justice degree and become a state policeman, just like dad (W.W. George),” 19-year-old Brandt George said Monday afternoon.

Wants to try to walk-on next year:

Brandt George said he has already been in contact with Rick Heller, hired last week as Indiana State baseball coach, replacing Lindsay Meggs, hired as University of Washington head coach earlier this summer.

“I emailed coach Heller a couple times and he has called me a couple times,” George said.

“This first year I’ll focus on academics. Then I want to go out for baseball and try to make the team as a walk-on.”
