I think there are literally dozens of reason for the low number of donors and low amount of money. But I firmly believe it is that there is still not a culture of giving back at ISU (it has improved). There is a long way to go before there is just that "expectation" of giving back to your alma mater. Truthfully, the lack of a capital campaign EVER, before the March On Campaign is a major issue and reason for the lack of support. But there are just too many reasons to mention...simply put, ISU is improving this area of the college but will need to continue not only to improve it, but enlist current students and recent grads to establish that culture of giving back. Is it any surprise that Creighton is so high on the list...a culture of giving exists there.

This is good to hear.

Because it's not just ONE reason?

Am glad it's trending up; Sad that it's taken this long.

The Foundation was established in 1929. Their FIRST Capital Campaign was March On! ISU (still in operation) which started in late 2007 or 2008...

That's essentially 80 years of NEVER asking for help.

Understand that not everyone can give or that those that can, will.

But if you don't ask...

Or the Sycamore Track Club, or the women's soccer program, or the general Sycamore Athletics Scholarship Fund. We love our most visible sports, such as football and basketball, but the athletic department as a whole needs our support!

You are correct.....support ALL of the sports at Indiana State....

I had cut and pasted the fund raising thread from a football alumni newsletter that I had sent out. Wasn't trying to shortchange the other sports.

Renewed my membership last week. Hope we can get additional ones to give, too. If every athlete who was on scholarship donated, the number would increase dramatically.
