Sycamore Baseball Battles #7 Vanderbilt But Falls 6-2

NASHVILLE, TENN. – The seventh ranked Vanderbilt Commodores took control early to defeat the Indiana State Sycamores 6-1 in a mid-week non-conference game played at Hawkins Field Tuesday. The start of the game was delayed nearly an hour by a steady drizzle.

Provably not going to beat too many top ten teams when you give them as many runs as the Sycamores did last night. Gave up two unearned runs, then in the 6th we gave up two earned runs without them getting a single hit. We hit four Vanderbilt batters in that inning which plated a run, and then one more scored on a fielders choice.

Time to regroup and get a win in Bloomington tonight.
