TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The baseball gods must have something else in store for the Sycamore baseball team because they just were not on the home team's side Friday night on Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium as the Illinois State Redbirds escaped with a 5-2 Missouri Valley Conference win.

Freaky ninth inning! I'm still concerned about the pitching staff as just eight pitchers are in the loop right now. Five of those eight pitched in this game. Yes, last night's game was an uphill battle facing what likely is the best arm in the conference. So, I'm not pinning the loss on the pitchers...although they gave up a lot of free bags with walks and hit batters.
