Let's let [email protected] know how we feel about Sycamore Vision. One day he may actually fire someone responsible for it for not doing their job.

Here's my question, how much $$$ does the athletics department actually make charging for this service? We (LMU) charged for about a year, then realized it was better for us to offer it up for free (from a recruiting, alumni relations, marketing/branding perspective). The way our deal with CBS Sports is set up says that we (as an athletics department) have the option to pay a set amount up front (in order to offer it for free). The amount isn't much and is easily covered with a single sponsorship. Our other option is to do something similar to SycamoreVision (charge per event, month or year). Maybe ISU makes more $$$ than I'm guessing, but I just think it's a missed opportunity to showcase the ISU brand and product.

Maybe Jason (or anyone else who works in the Internet/Computer field) can answer this question. What is a ballpark number that a school like Indiana State would need to pay to set up a system like SycamoreVision to work properly? I don't mean exact numbers, but what do you think it would take? Is it harder than we are all thinking it is, or is State trying to do this on the cheap and therefore putting out an inferior product?

Other than two or three cameras at the Hulman Center what else would we need to do a basic streaming of a game?

ISU is doing this on the cheap plain and simple. It does not take an enormous amount of resources or manpower to produce a decent production but of course ISU is totally dropping the ball on sycamore vision. How do you expect to keep alums who move away engaged with this 3rd grade operation they have going on?

While in Melbourne Beach, I subscribed MONTHLY and on most occasions, opted for ESPN3 when it was available. Piss poor product...been that way since inception how many years ago?

I too would watch on another feed like ESPN3 or even the other team's pay site (WHICH 9 TIMES OF 10 IS A BETTER PRODUCTION) when it is available but my complaint is that when Sycamore Vision is the only venue the DAMNED THING SHOULD WORK RIGHT or like for yesterday's game WORK WHEN ADVERTISED THAT IT WOULD BE ON THE AIR.

I think for about 5500 you could get a top of the line HD camera, cables, and software. This is off-the-shelf stuff and doesn't take a tech genius to implement. Add a mac pro laptop and you are in business. The weak link might be the internet connection at the HC.

Every MVC school was required to purchase Gameplan 3 years ago. Did ISUb not keep the system?
