The Sycamores are not a very good shooting team

The women's team had a nice victory Saturday over Northwestern, which boasted an early season win over nationally-ranked DePaul and lost only to North Carolina State and nationally-ranked California.
However, I am a little confused by the repeated reference to ISU's poor shooting. The writer for the sports information department seemed alarmed that the Sycamores hit only 33% from the field against Tulane. This percentage is hardly surprising. Anna Munn, universally recognized it seems as the team's top shooter, averages 31.4% from the field. Anna is a versatile player and I am glad she is on our team. She is "lights-out" at the free throw line. But she does little to increase the team's field goal percentage.
As a team, the Sycamores shoot 36.7% from the field while their opponents shoot 43.1%.
