The Sycamore Level
The Sycamores are down 45-34 at halftime. Illinois State started the game shooting 8 for 9 from the 3-point line.

Most of the shots Illinois State had in the first half were contested they just hit everything. We only had 6 turnovers in the first half as well so we weren't playing that bad if the Redbirds cool off a little bit we might be able to make a game out of it.

I'm a little surprised at the 99 MVC wins...thought it would be higher too.

But it seems to me that, unless Wiedie has aspirations to coach at a larger school (BCS conference), he could be at STATE a long long time and retire as a Sycamore...thus giving him the MVC career lead when he retires. I'd love it if he spent 15-20 more years at State.

they simply started playing much better competition....and competetion that knows the sycamores and more specifically coach W's system.
 
Well if that were the case then the Sycamores would have won this game. I was at practice Thursday and talked to coach Wiedie. They have changed everything and changed all their offensive sets since what they were running before weren't working. They are playing better competition but when the opposing team shoots 8-9 from 3-pt to start the game, even if some were wide open, its tough to win.
 
It would help if the girls were physically stronger. The teams they face are cut. Toward the end of the games, this makes a difference. Stamina helps. We don't seem to hit the shots in the bottom of the 2nd half.

If you are referring to a coaching change (which I'm assuming you are since multiple other changes have already been made) you should prolly look at the past and realize that it would be one of the stupidest decisions that could be made. Let me give you some of coach Wiedie's stats.

• Most winningest coach at ISU
• Three WNIT appearances
• WVCA Region 6 Coach of the Year (2005-06)
• Three WBCA national team academic
• Coached 14 student-athletes to a total of 21 All-MVC first- or second-team awards and honorable mention accolades. Nov
• 2 time MVC coach of the year
• 2 MVC regular season titles

That's exactly why it will happen....it has been a bit since we have made a complete bonehead decision we are due! jk of course
