That's at least twice now that ISU baseball during the conference season has been put on the back burner for softball. I used to buy ESPN+ throughout football, basketball, and baseball season; but like I said a few weeks ago this is an example of why I quit purchasing it. I either watch us in person or listen to the free radio broadcast.

Looks like UE's Shallenberger is back @ cleanup as a DH. Like ol' Dizz used to say, "He's got power to burn."

We are leaving way too many runners on base. Bad base running as well. We should be up by 3

I said this at the early stages of the season that our baserunning was poor. I thought our small ball game would get better as the season progressed, but it has not. Our pitching has been amazing and was good again, but we couldn't hit the ball well tonight. Well, now they can get any thoughts of hosting a regional out of their heads and forget about all the national love they were being showered with and just play ball. Frustrating to lose a game you should have won, thats for sure.

Weekend is not ruined. Still a chance to win the series and keep the momentum going. This is always a tough series but a 2-1 weekend is the expectations and still in reach.

Frustrating to listen to that very winnable game.

What's bad is that the LH Schultz has been UE's BEST starting pitcher this season...and ISU will see him Saturday. I did think that UE's HC handled his bullpen admirably in the last couple innings w/ what ISU had batting.

Smith was exactly what Coach Hannah's typed him pre-game...a "bulldog." If he throws like this the rest of the season, UE will be a THREAT in the MVC Post-season. Shallenberger is clearly struggling w/ his injuries and yet to get his stroke back.

Most games are lost, not won. I sure hope we learn from this.

What inning was it where Gergely doubled to lead off and we couldn't score ? You can't piss away opportunity like this in a tight pitching matchup or you're gonna get bit.

Absolutely. The hitting was swinging at any pitch. That play where the catcher dropped strike 3 and arguing with Blue about the call. Dude goes to 2nd. Again, they were begging us to beat them.

Sears seems to be getting more discipline at the pitches, but not producing. Can’t win them all, but frustrating.

Hopefully Coach will Mark it down as a lesson learned.

Hosting a regional should not be a goal anyway. Was so unlikely to happen.

Winning the conference regular season, keeping the RPI in a position to be an at large in case we fall in the MVC tournament should be the only two goal right now.

Just need to bounce back today and warm up the bats.
