I can remember at least one MVC tournament (don't remember year) when could not play all games due to rainouts and a winner was declared by the league. Pre-set scheduled dates to begin NCAA tourney already in place it could happen here? Southern Illinois would have the inside track having won the regular season.

Salukis playing for their NCAA lives. Current RPI is 75, probably need 1 win against DBU to be in the discussion for an At-Large

And you all thought they wouldn't play past Thursday 😆
An extra day didn't help w/ the holes in this pitching staff...SEASON OVER:

Pretty tough way to end the year out battling the injuries and an academic ineligible player that was mentioned on the broadcast today. At one point this season, this team had the ability to win the conference and at-large hopes.

This team loses some pieces but also have some nice pieces coming back. Looking forward to next season and getting back on track with the expectations of the NCAA tournament.

Johnson now history after 3 IP, as Craig corks a 2-run homer. Now 9-1. DBU has thrown 94 pitches in 3 innings.

Roberts greets the new DBU reliefer w/ a 3-run HR. Now 12-1. Aces going for the "Slaughter" run-shortened win.

16-1 bottom of 5th...UE not letting up. Smith pulled @ 68 pitches, could use later in tourney if needed.

21-2 final...UE'3 three (3) pitchers only surrendered one (1) walk over seven (7) innings. Compare this w/ ISU and you see where the Sycs MUST get better.

Two blowouts in one day. Missouri State also eliminated Bradley 19-3. The Bears are showing well on their home field. I'm sure the MVC likes that too since it will probably increase their ticket sales.

I will be happy with any result as long as DBU doesn't win it in their final year, although I'm kind of pulling for Evansville. Based purely on DBU's extremely high RPI I think they are probably a safe at-large team anyways.

The OVC plays a winner take all championship game today (May 28th), between SE Missouri State and future MVC member Belmont. It would probably be good for the MVC if Belmont wins that game.

I'm still scratching my head re: Heefner's boy getting MVC post-season awards. Kid has "stone hands" for a glove and is batting sub-.300 now.
