The NCAA "investigated" NILs?
They started. They were looking into Tennessee, Florida and maybe a few others. Not sure how far they got and not sure how fast they were moving. But now have stopped all of them

But like Jason said, NIL is about to slow way down for 90% of schools. Donors aren’t a bottomless well. It’s one thing to donate to a building that will be used for 50 years. It’s another thing to be used as an ATM for players. Sooner or later many donors will say “no mas”. At least I think.

Nil can become bottomless pits if you let the university pay an Nil directly. This makes donors "gifts" tax deductible.

Donors are smarter than that... well at least non-$ec donors

everyone has a limit to what they'll spend

There is donor fatigue for everything. It's not like college athletics are the only thing jockeying for a portion of someone's discretionary income. Hell, you can't go to the grocery store this month without having to karate chop 20 obnoxious scout mom's hocking crack-laced cookies.

The one difference for P5 schools is they'll likely just divert a portion of their media rights and licensing directly into that NIL fund. Instant cheat code based on how the system is setup in their favor and their conference affiliation. It's why I'm not firm into the hope football splits off camp.
