Noticed ISU came back from a 6-5 deficit in the 9th inning to win 9-6 in game one of the DH today, off to a 2-0 start.

In Game 3 of the series with The Citadel. ISU was down 5-0.

They have rallied to take the lead 6-5 in the top of the 4th. Scored 4 in the fifth on Strausborger 2 RBI double and a Ciolli 2 RBI triple.

and Greene is pitching, isn't his dad a poster on this board??

6-6 in the 7th now

Holy Cow! That was stressing

Hi Guys,

Cordell's mom here..... Tough first outing for him. Wish I had video to see how the pitches looked. Not the 1st outing I"m sure he was looking for though. I'm glad to see that he got a shot on the mound so he could get the jitters behind him.

I'm impressed that the team is doing well considering they haven't played outside very much leading up to this road trip!

Now I'm off to have a beer and relax!

:sycamores:

This game is also going extra innings. Going to the 11th tied 7-7.

GO SYCAMORES!

ISU wins 8-7 in 11 innings, 3-0 on the season, going for a 4 game sweep tomorrow at noon.

MUCH better start for 2009 I'd say.

SYCAMORES WIN AGAIN! 8-7 in 11 innings. Man oh man they started today at noon and went 10 innings in the first game and the DH just now ended at 8:25........................one loooooooong but had to be fun workday!

GO SYCAMORES (3-0)

Not a bad first outing for Coredell. It's a hugh adjustment. He may get some innings today because it seems as though we are running out of pitchers. I wonder who is going to start on Tuesday.

As Cordell's aunt, I have to say I was happy with his first D1 appearance yesterday. (Seems he's developing quite a female family fan club on this board, huh? Hi, SkinnyLu!)

I also thought that freshman Matt Bayes had a nice debut as a reliever in both games Saturday. Since I don't reside in Indiana, I wasn't all that familiar with him until I read about him on a previous thread on this board. It looks like he may turn out to be a great southpaw pickup for the team and definitely a loss for Evansville.

I'm impressed with the maturity level of this team so far in the series with their ability to battle back from deficits and fight to win the tough games. Here's pulling for the sweep today!

(And I'm happy that the Sycamores have a better record right now than my beloved Beavers to start the season!)

The 3rd extra inning game in a row; going to the 10th 4-4.

GO SYCAMORES............................SWEEP!

Sycamores were a tough out but they dropped the 4th game of the series 5-4 in 12 innings.

they finally weren't able to pull a game out, still 3-1 to start the season is pretty good.

After the game vs. St. Louis (2-2) for the home opener on Tuesday (weather looks good so far), ISU will play Villanova (0-3), Mt. St. Mary's, St. Bonaventure, N.Y. Tech, and a 5th team yet to be determined in Palm Beach, Florida next weekend. This will be the season openers for Mt. St. Mary's, St. Bonaventure, and N.Y. Tech, so ISU needs to jump on these teams and win these games.

of course this hasn't been announced on the ISU site yet, but is posted here

I'm happy anytime we can go 3 - 1 on the road in the South. Good Start!

Now, back to play a game in 30 degree weather at lovely Sycamore Field.

Okay, we are at 0 degrees this morning in Minnesota. 30 degrees seems warm but not warm enough to play ball in yet. Underarmor is a must!
