The Odum Level
So the Colts win today, secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs, remain one of only two teams undefeated at 13-0, set the NFL record for wins in a decade at 114, set the NFL record for most consecutive regular season wins at 22, and what does the Tribune Star choose to post online after the game? An AP story that focuses entirely on Marshall setting a meaningless record for receptions in a game. PATHETIC EFFORT FROM THE LOCAL PAPER!!!!!!

I appreciate Tom's coverage of the Colts for the Tribstar. I just can't believe that's the only story they had to choose from.

Agreed, he does good stuff. He must not have had his stuff ready yet and that's what they decided to put on the web. I am not going to express what I think of the Trib Star on here.

Hey!!!! I wrote two stories on the Colts-Broncos game....

And I had them in to the paper by 7 p.m.......so there.....lol.....

Get the Indy Star if you want Indianapolis Colts news. This is Terre Haute.

Actually, I find Tom usually has some news you can't find in the Indystar. Considering they're the Indy paper, their Colts coverage is rather inconsistent. I was just disappointed with the AP story choice for online.

That's been remedied. Good Colts stories in the online and paper editions today.

Yeah I agree, atleast we can get an injury report from Tom James daily in the tribstar, sometimes those are hard to find in the Indystar.

Tom you really think the Colts should rest and not play for history? With they bye week and all don't you think it's a little soon to be resting players? What's the situation with Gonzo and Adam V.? When can we expect to see them back, if at all?

Oh and Donald Brown - are the Colts going to have to sign Dom Rhodes or Edge for the playoffs? Mike Heart has played pretty well, can he get some love in the paper this week? lol

The Colts should play for the Super Bowl title..and make history....

The active roster is limited to 53 players.....so they can't rest everybody......they'll rest the guys that are hurt....and need some time off....other guys will play....although they may have their playing time reduced.....

New England proved in 2007 that a 16-0 record is very nice.....but they wound up losing in the Super Bowl to the New York Giants....the Colts will rest players.....whether the fans like it or not.....the decision will be made by Polian, Caldwell and Irsay.......

As for Gonzalez and Vinatieri.....both are coming along okay in their rehab from knee surgery.....and might be available for the playoffs.....but no timetable has given offered when they may return to practice.....it looks like Matt Stover could remain with the team for the rest of the season......

And for Donald Brown??

I think you really have to play most of the guys the entire game on Thursday, they need to make that commitment. The Colts talk about one game at a time all the time and don't tell me that a 4th MVP means nothing to Manning. Should he win the MVP this year? Yes! Will he win it if he only plays a a half or a quarter the rest of the season? Nope. Does Coach Caldwell deserve Coach of the Year? Yes! Will he win it if we rest guys and end up with 1, 2 or 3 losses? Doubtful. That honor will go to Sean Payton more than likely.

Of course if they decide to rest guys I am not going to be mad or question why they are doing it. I mean they have earned the right to do whatever the hell they want. And we have home field advantage in the playoffs which should be "easy street" back to Florida for the Super Bowl.

Do you think Manning is a lock for the MVP? Brees had another helluva game yesterday; they both won but Brees had better stats yesterday -- might be another year when we see the MVP split...

I could see a split and I think that would be very fair. Hell Farve is in the hunt also, some people think that Chris Johnson is a possibility, but I don't think so - his team only played half a season. Winning counts for something.

Except for Cy Young voting..

Donald Brown is also week to week.....

for now....they most likely won't sign Rhodes or the Edge...they like the guys they have with Addai, Hart, Simpson and Brown when he is healthy.....

Hart got more work Sunday against Denver because Simpson got dinged on a kickoff return. They liked what Hart was providing, so they kept going back with him late in the second half of the Broncos game.

And Caldwell just announced his decision for the Jacksonville game......

Read Tuesday's Tribune-Star....lol.....

and you'll know....lol.....*

*they're treating the Jacksonville game just like all the other games. All will play who are healthy.
