The Good:

*Jake Odum once again; 15pts,12 rebs, 2 stls
* WTWO airing a ROAD game
*No major injuries

The Bad:

* Another loss to a team we should have handled fairly easily
* Defense allowed SIU to shoot 51% from the field
* 4 SIU players scoring double figures
* We had 8 assists and 14 turnovers
* Another bad loss before a big time home game that will probably hurt the attendance even more

The Ugly:

* Lathan 1-10 from the field
* Printy & RJ a combined 3-14 from behind the arc
* Trees 5-21 from the arc
* We continue to be inconsistent
* Now 2-4 in the MVC

The bad: A team that was widely projected to finish in the half of the conference now looks like it could finish dead last or close to it. And has no major injuries to blame.
 
we're playing on Thursday in St. Louis, I have no doubt about it now. Looking at our next 5 games, we're gonna lose all 5 and be 2-9 in MVC play. We'll be a 9 or 10 seed.
 
And that is unacceptable. This a team that was supposed to be turning the corner. Instead it's reverting back to mediocrity. You have all of this positive momentum built up from last year and in typical ISU fashion you're squandering it as badly as you could possibly imagine.

I could live with the two road losses to start the season, but we've done nothing since then to prove we're anything more than bottom of the pack. Pathetic!

I'm gonna name a few names, and it's no slight against them personally, but...

Walker -- aside from a big body is totally non-existent on the Offensive end. Time to see some Kitch and Gant more minutes
Steve Mc. -- where did you go??? You were taken from the starting line-up and you've gone into a hole
Doulouny -- Thanks for your time @ ISU, doesn't appear that your Coach's guy
Carl -- What's up w/ your back? You D is significantly lacking this year

Slight Positives
JO -- Keep playing brother, you'll eventually get some help
Lu Eitel -- Commend your team first attitude, don't pass up that shot!!!!
Lathan -- Keep workin', get to the basket and you'll eventually get some calls
RJ -- Most Improved!!! Keep truckin'
Kitch/Gant -- Aggression!!!!

Coach -- How bout we start a little full court pressure? See if we can speed up the tempo, as we're getting our A$$ kicked on the halfcourt end.

Your dead on my friend! This team should be playing with a attitude this season coming off of last years success. Show some passion, play like your champions and not like you expect the league to hand you the title or postseason this year.

We constantly bitch about the lack of support in the community and poor attendance but it's stuff like this is the reason we will NEVER constantly come close to packing the HC. Every time it looks like the program is turning the page and headed towards becoming a legit MVC power and a national mid major player we have stretches like this and it kills the fans and communities support. I really think Sunday's game is make or break for this season. If we come out flat and get waxed up and down the court the fans will be waiting for football season and this team mails in the rest of the season. I hope I'm wrong but they are giving us no reason to see it otherwise right now....

and how does Odom get 12 rebounds and the front line doesn't total 12 rebounds.....EFFORT!

A career high 12 rebound, 5 offensive and had 34% of the teams totl rebounds. Just terrible that he out rebounds everyone like this. I thinks Odum needs to try and take over a little more. He needs to get up more shots - no one else seems to want to take them and I like Odum shooting better than Carl or Walker at this point. Richard has totally checked out.

I don't know the stats on this, but who else on this team, besides odum, ever gets any assists. Besides jake, we have no one that can create offense consistently. Let's face it, printy is not that good. He's one dimensional and he doesn't even do that very well. Lathan can score but that's about all he does. Richard disappears for long stretches and rarely provides any help on the glass where we need him most. Myles just flat sucks on offense. I honestly think we'll be better next year when these seniors are gone. We play harder and better when rj, eitel, and Gant are in the game. If you haven't noticed, our seniors are the most in inconsistent players we have. We just need to start fresh. These guys we rely on aren't reliable.
 
Too easy to pile on when things are going downhill so this is my last pile-on post. The four seniors are not carrying the show and two of them are fifth year seniors, Lathan and Printy. No excuses........time to put up or shut up and ride the pine for quite awhile.
 
As much of a "good guy" "bad guy" we fans can be depending on how the wind is blowing I hope we never get this bad this quick

Well this one totally floored me...

The Indiana Hoosiers are beating everyone's expectations - they're a Top 10 team and have beaten the #1 ranked team in the nation (Kentucky) and the #2 team (Ohio State) in front of their home fans..

AND YET at least 10 of the current threads on their #1 message board have to do with the fact that home fans were BOOING the team last night when they lost a tough battle with Minnesota...and especially booing every time senior Verdell Jones III touched the ball (I guess he was having a bad game)..

Fans like this are despicable and although all teams have them this highlights how absolutely horrible some fans are -- trashing a player who has given them so much!

I hope you're right, because I thought last night's game was the make or break game. Boy, do I hope you're right and I was wrong.

When you look at the two programs,football did the same thing to our fans this year too.They were successful early,got people excited and really faded down the stretch.Maybe this is just our lot in life,who knows.I'm sure the coaches are working hard to succeed,sometimes you're just not good enough.

You have to agree about the assist part. We are at the bottom of the MVC in assists. How many would we get without Odum?

And JP is an average shooter and he's supposed to be our best.

And Carl is playing like he is done.
