The Nicks Level
Offense: BE PHYSICAL! Running the football will be huge against this team because we know we can pass the ball on them. We have to be able to gain 4 yards a carry to win and win big IMO.
Defense: Multiple looks. Their QB may be talented but he is young and a multiple look may end up in 3-4 big losses. Interior linebacker play will be huge as well, would like to see an Archie in Hess's face regularly.
Special teams: Big question mark is if we can get Santino Davis back at Punter, if we can pin them deep on regular occasion it makes both of the other two easier.
Special coaching: Have to be able to set-up two to three traps on the offensive side of the ball to get that young defense to over pursue.

Lucas punted in his first game since high school last night. I think everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised when they see how amazing this guy really is. He just needs a couple games under his belt, and he'll be very very good!

gonna have to stop Jamaine Cook (RB) and Hess (QB), both had killer games vs. ILS Saturday and are experienced players.

Three things? Offense: you'll find you won't consistently pass or run the ball on YSU. Not at all the same defense as a year ago. A tight end across the middle hurt us some in the ISU game and coach knows we have to drop a linebacker once in a while to stop that. We're kinda thin in the defensive backfield, ( no secret there) and if someone goes down I would expect the other team to exploit it. Defense: True a young QB. but I think Hess has learned from his mistakes a year ago, and has proven himself so far. as far as running backs, we have no problem there, and the line has been superb. It's still a young season, but the stupid mistakes, fumbles, int's, and penalties that put YSU in a position to drop games late appear to have been fixed so far. Like I said still a young season. Special teams: You may have us there. Liste did a good job punting last week, but even into a slight wind he's short. so is the kicking game. 40 yard FG would be max for us So far we havent been tested there.

Your defense can be pushed around. It's a fact. And if we can move the ball for about four yards a carry things will be rough for the penguins. Fouch is the best pure quarterback you guys will see all year so if he gets play action as a weapon, be scared.

I notice you using a couple of "if's". If we can move the ball 4 yds. a carry! If Fouch gets play action as a weapon! you don't seem so sure? On the other hand, WE WILL get 4 yards a carry, Unless Hess wants to prove again that he's matured since last year!:evileye: Fear the Penguin!!!!!!!

It's called grammar and nothing is for certain in football...yeah we sure feared the penguin last year.

There is a difference between confidence and arrogance. The most appropriate classification of this post will be determined on the field Saturday afternoon.

We will see when it comes to Saturday. I don't talk smack for my team because in all honesty, it is a bit below me...

their running back is pretty dang good....is he better than wku running back rainey who has racked up those yards against fbs schools...hmmmm...ysu is much better in the trenches then wku...I do know that....YSU has some speed and they know how to use it....this will be a tough game....hess is good...fouch is better but not by so much that I think it is a huge advantage....our D is better this year too as well as YSU's...but if YSU has some trouble at corner...fouch and hilton will have a field day...our corners are good...I don't think any spot on our D is weak.....all in all YSU will be looking for revenge...after I saw them play mich st...I was worried about us playing these guys bc our penn state game we did'nt measure up...I thought YSU played them even closer than the score showed...however, I would have thought YSU would beat Ill st a little more significantly....I say sycamores by 3...YSU is a very good team....if ISU beats these guys like they did wku...we can win the conference and we are a better team than I thought...this is a very different YSU team than last year for sure...so..can't wait...

I said somewhere in another post that Fouch would try to take advantage of the middle of the field with tightends and running backs cutting across. It's no secret we are weak there. Someone on the hill told me we will try to get more pressure on Fouch with the blitz, while we bring up a DB to fill the slot. You don't think he'll see that opening do you ?????

The way you beat Ronnie isn't to blitz, you have to bring four down pressure because he has such a quick and smart release. If I was tasked with slowing down Ronnie Fouch I would drop back into some inventive coverages and attempt to rush with 4

You were right about the tight end but shakir bell ran for 256 yards on the game:

An Indiana State school record. I think people are just now waking up to what an explosive back Bell is, and to just how good this offensive line can be. On that last drive, when YSU had to stop us, they couldn't.
