Sycamores Set To Compete at the 105th Drake Relays This Weekend

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State University track and field teams will head to Des Moines, Iowa this week to take part in the 105th Annual Drake Relays. The event will take place from April 23-27 at Drake Stadium.

Steffen Sits 13th/Johnson 18th in the Heptathlon After Day One at the Drake Relays

DES MOINES, IOWA – Senior Kelly Steffen sits in 13th place overall, while senior Rachael Johnson sits in 18th in the heptathlon after the first day of competition at the Drake Relays.

Former ISU NCAA champion Kylie Hutson was 2nd at the Mall Vault at the Drake relays, this is an event where they pole vault in the mall in Des Moines, no results listed yet, but will post when I find them.

Kelly Steffen gets 5th place in the women's Heptathlon, Rachel Johnson is 12th

our only other competitor tonight is Nicole Lucas in the women's 10,000, Nicole set a 5k PR this past week at Ohio State, going 17:27, so hopefully she runs well tonight.

ISU junior Nicole Lucas runs the 10,000 in 36:21.99 placing her #2 all time at ISU, BIG PR for Nicole! She placed 16th in the race tonight!

DES MOINES, Iowa - Junior Nicole Lucas ran the second fastest time in school history, while senior Kelly Steffen placed fifth overall in the heptathlon to conclude the second day of competition at the Drake Relays.

neither 4 x meter relay team advanced, the women ran 45.48 and were the 1st team to miss the final. Men were 41.41 & 22nd place

women's 4 x 400 meter relay runs a season best 3:41.13 and places 14th in the preliminaries of this relay

Mary Theisen easily wins the women's discus title, throwing 174 feet! She was also 2nd in the shot put, going 53-05.75"
 
men's 4 x 400 relay runs a season best of 3:09.25, that is #2 on the all time 4 x 400 list at ISU! They were 14th overall in the preliminaries

the men's sprint medley relay runs 3:20.25 to place 6th just now, great race! that is #4 all time at ISU as well

Hanna Mercer ran 11:14.45 in the women's steeplechase, men's underway next

the men's shuttle hurdle relay was DQ'd, I imagine someone started early

Katie Wise finishes 3rd in the women's 100, 11.78, off her pace of 11.33 from Friday

Greggmar Swift gets 2nd in the hurdles, behind the kid from Illinois who beat him in the meet at Illinois.

Chris Fields 7th in the mens hammer throw 192-10

Tuttle and Jackson get 15th and 16th for ISU in the men's 400 meter hurdles,
