Indiana State junior guard Tre' Bennett has been tabbed the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer Of The Week today (Jan. 5) by the league office for his performance in contests at Illinois State and back home against Evansville.

He is a scorer. As long as they give him the freedom to take a shot he will thrive. Early in the season I think they had him playing with handcuffs. He is not your stereotypical point guard. Think Nick Moore, former Illinois State and now SMU.
