When are dinosaur events like this going the way of the Doo-Doo (sp) Bird?

Not only are activities like this facist....they're indirectly or overtly racist, and do not bring in a broader spectrum of cultures. Especially those emerging people from outside the United States, who may be attending ISU. Some people call them undocumented, or more hatefully, Americans call them illegal aliens!

Also, words like "compete" and "title" are primitive in their tone, and are egalitarian. How fair is it to those students who panic at the thought of fair competition, and those who fear the word title? When everyone should be entitled to a Title. The word alone reeks of entitlement, and of doors being opened for the elite while others are shut out.

If ISU wishes to have a diverse and multi-cultural experience for all of its students, the "Miss" event either needs to discontinued or allow all students to be involved in the pageantry of this event, including Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgendered students.

In conclusion, when there's inclusiveness, there's not divisiveness.

And one final comment, there is a place for all at ISU on the runway, except for those who may want to enter the contest as a Native American Indian, especially those who might want to up the ante by wearing native American clothing with a headdress, or have an accompanying Bow and Arrow as a wardrobe accoutrement and consider themselves some kind of sports wannabe mascot. Also, weapons like Bows and Arrows represent independence which is against the concept of village, community and harmony.

Have you been smoking crack?

Ha...heck no....just making fun of the absurd and politically correct world that we live in and doing a left-handed swipe at the feminists and left wing liberals who loathe these kind of events.

I just repeated the dumb crap I hear at work and what's in the news.

I work for a company that has 72,000 employees nationwide and they spend incredible amounts of money and energy for GLBTA efforts....some of our work sites even have....now get this Gender Neutral Bathrooms! The last paragraph was my way of jabbing at what the United States has become, reference the recent the recent Indian mascot name controversy (Redskins) and our Chief Ouabachi conversation that we had recently on SP.
