The UNI radio announcers stated Saturday that Key should be 1st Team All-MVC! Something to personally aim for next yr. I guess.

Btw, here's the full MVC All-Conference teams:

https://mvc-sports.com/news/2019/3/4/arch-madness-mvc-announces-2018-19-all-conference-honors.aspx

Hard to believe that SIU's Pippen was 3rd Team...Fayne's #'s on the offensive board is why he's there. Krutwig's Co-Champion team status leveraged him, along w/ his blue collar presence EVERY game.

Statistically, Da Silva, Pippen & Krutwig show similar #'s until your look @ blocked shots. This is what separates Pippen from all the others, with twice (2) the number of his competitors, which is why he was also chosen for the MVC All-Defensive squad.

***While mentioning "blocked shots," what happened to ISU's Emondre Rickman this season? For some reason, he was not the rim protector like his prior 3 yrs.

And what Lansing needs to aim for next season is to get Jordan Barnes on the First or Second team along with Key and Neese.

And that my BLUE friends will be the test of Lansing's coaching ability.

If Lansing leaves JB's in his current roll, expect more of the same.

If he puts the ball in Keys and Neeses hands and lets THEM get the ball to a cutting, slicing and getting open JB's...then we might have something.

Well that, and Bronson Kessinger figuring out how to pass and to kick it out to others who might be open versus the bump, grind, and muscle to try to get some forced half-assed shot....and while I'm providing my observations....how dumb is it to leave the ball in JB's hands for for a last second shot.....WHEN WE HAVE KEY!!!!!

JB does NOT have the STRENGTH, PHYSIQUE, HEIGHT or SKILLS to create that last one-on-one shot....JB has lots of value, so exploit the skills he does have, and that's a great shot when open!

I 100% dislike all-conference teams when they put like 3 PFs or 3SGs on there. IMO, two guards, two forwards and then the best C. If no C exists, then you can give it to a flex player.

This list is shit to boot. Some people got on that list off of name recognition only. Key was 1st team all valley. Period.

Key took a couple of games off and I think that really hurt him . I think had he just gave all out effort the entire season he would have been on the first team easily . Couple that along with the fact that being the best player on the 8th place team goes against you as well .With that said I agree that an all conference team should be by position .

He had a couple bad games, but I don’t think I’d say he took them off. He’s a self starter and the hardest worker on the team. Who knows what the game plan was those games. You’re definitely correct about him being penalized for our 8th place finish.

I will use the first Bradley game he took 3 shots in 35 minutes as well as first UNI game 5 shots in 32 minutes, these are a couple of examples that I say he took off . You are playing these minutes you have to take the shot your not out there as a decoy you are a scorer . I really think this hurt him in the all conference team .
