I'd be surprised if he doesn't ultimately go back to Lithuania (I think that's where he's from). If he's playing in the D-League he must have some relative assurance he's the first guy getting called up if the Nets have an injury or need. Being a native, he can make BIG money playing in his home country since they have requirements on how many first country nationals must play on each team.
He also has a partially guaranteed contract with the Nets, so he's getting paid regardless of where he plays provided he's still in the system. He may just be waiting for the final guaranteed check to clear before heading home.
