I do not understand the desire of good I-AA teams to move up to a division where they'll lose their a-- both in the bank account and on the field. Even the guy who was on here from Boise State last year said that they just don't make very much money from football. And for every Boise State out there there are numerous Sun Belt and MAC teams.

I just don't get the allure. Like UNI is ever gonna go to the Orange Bowl or something...stupid, just stupid...

It is a new age. Everyone has to be on their toes with conference realignment. We have some major facilities work to do if the MVC as a whole was to move up. From a money standpoint, I don't get it for UNI given that they just had to cut their baseball team but I don't understand all of the expense factors truthfully. I do know it wouldn't change much from a scheduling standpoint if the whole conference were to move up.

I believe there was discussion to axe their entire sports program. Now they want to move up? Doesn't compute but good luck to them.

This would just turn the MVFC in to another MAC. If this is in fact the case then we need to start looking for another conference.

UNI is spitting into the wind; the biggest reason texas-san antonio (utsa) and georgia state MAY succeed... they both play in large, growing urban areas in states that continue to grow in population AND (most importantly) NEITHER faced the obstacle of building their own 'bcs/fbs-approved' stadium.

the rest of the schools on that list... (montana, lamar, appalachian state, liberty, etc, etc) are not in positions to succeed in FBS.

At a time when schools in fbs OUGHT to be looking to step back to FCS, you have this wacky report?! Good luck indeed; watch your wallets panther alumni!

And the idea of the entire MVC moving up to fbs?? just as wacky as uni doing it
