Those verbal signs sure don't look like they are working, as all 3 of them were beaten by West Vigo, who plays the traditional way.

23-0 baby!!!!!!

Well, I guess 23-1 isn't bad as WV chocked away their season with an opening sectional loss to Edgewood today and North and South are still playing.

WV also never had to face AJ Reed.

hahahha AJ Reed That kid will be lucky to survive a year in SEC country

What do u mean? 6'4" lefty who throws 90mph and had 15 MLB teams at his start against Terre Haute North. 8-0 with like a 0.5 ERA this year. Oh and also has hit 32 homeruns in his last 2 high school seasons on legitimate baseball fields unlike the kids at Riverton Parke who play on a field thats about 250 down the lines.

I guess I don't follow you.

Terre Haute South field isn't exactly a tough place to hit a home run

It's not the Grand Canyon but it's a legitimate high school field. He also hit 16 last year in legion who plays at North which, other than center, is pretty much as far as any MLB field.

Sounds like someones a little jealous.

Yeah if you want to slant a guy you have to say why 28...But I would like to see if West vigo fan JLandrus has anything to say about their traditional signs?

How many games have you seen the Riverton Parke kids play? Not many I'm guessing because they haven't hit too many cheap homers this season. Another thing about the Riverton Parke kids is not to many other teams hit bombs out of there off of them so give those kids credit. When the other team is playing there they hit on the same field with the same dimensions but their balls don't leave the yard.

I know RP isn't a big field but it's 280-290 down the lines.

Yea West Vigo faced Jimmy Maxwell who had to catch the previous 2 nights due to injury to the regular cathcer and had an off day as a result . However you want to put it South is the ONLYcounty team left as they beat the Northsiders 9-5 and will be going after their 5th straight sectional title at 6pm tonight .

I've seen them 3 times and they got smoked 3 times and I think they hit 1 Homer at west Vigo. They face inferior pitching and their field is not 290. Theres a reason RP has several state hr records and its not from having superior players. Maybe 270. I just get tired of hearing about it. When I see 2 guys with 20 hr's and neither are getting any D-1 or MLB draft love, it raises questions. They are good high school players, thats it. On the other hand, Reed faces top competition, plays on real fields, gets nothing to hit, is going to the SEC to be a 2-way player, and is going to get drafted, it is more impressive that he has 32 in 2 years. He is the premier power hitter in Indiana.

I've heard the same....that was a main selling point...they would let him hit, which he wants to do.

I am saying this kid will not play at Kentucky ( dont get me wrong I hope he turns down the temptation of the pro game for a few years . But I think i could be very wrong

I understand you now. My thinking is that he's a bigger prospect as a hitter than as a pitcher but I'm not a scout.

I don't know... if he's a HS lefty throwing in the 90's...
Last one I remember that was lefty throwing mid-90's legitimately was Jr. Allen of TH South back in '84. He was drafted by the Astros.

Yeah that's true. I wouldn't day he throws in the 90's but he can hit 90. More often 88 or so.

Haven't seen him throw... was told by a dad on the team that he throws low-to-mid 90's regularly. Still, if you are a lefty, have command and a heartbeat, the pros have a spot for you! ;-)
