Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but I thought I would throw this out since I was thinking about it. I am not disapointed at all about the loss on saturday or any loss this year....I have no problem losing to the teams we have lost to thus far. Penn State, the number 1 and 2 teams, and another team who should be ranked easily.....This is a very good football and I am proud of their performances and effort and their hard work. These Guys have played some tough games with these teams and the bison, uni, ill st...are no joke....they could beat many fbs schools...many. That is a very good product we have in the locker room at memorial stadium. We can cheer and say, "come on D step it up" and downtalk our of frustration but...trust me...they want to win more than we do and if they could stop it they would...sometimes you run into someone better...and you just have to dig deep and keep pushing.....These guys have done that and will keep doing that...

Agreed with almost all of your post! Great post and way to stay positive!

I am really proud of this team...people forget what we had graduate in Josh Jellison, Darrius Gates and others. The fact that we have replaced our leading rusher and unquestionably our best offensive lineman in Jellison.
Gates was a great leader as well if you watched him, he reminds me a lot of an FCS Ladanian tomlinson.

I think you mean Pat Burke.

Between him and Jelli you can make an argument...I really think Jelli was more important in the pass game and Burke in the run game. They were both key and I meant to mention Pat but forgot for some reason. We lost the entire left side of that line...the backside of our line was gone.

I thought Jellison was second string last season. Maybe I'm wrong but thought it was some combo of Borchers, Burke, Lutz, Geffert, Paswater with Smith starting some games. No disrespect to Jelli at all. Just recall him playing sparingly.

What is there not to be proud of? Look how far we've come in the past two years. To expect a championship suddenly is a bit much. The program has been building and getting stronger. We've been in contention the past two seasons. We're getting better and better, stronger and stronger. People are all worked up about the attendance, but heck, it's been better than it was in years past all season. Let's stay focused, stay upbeat and not let the energy die over an extremely difficult game.

Nothing here do disagree with. We should all be very proud of this team and it's effort and performance this season. I was going to wait til the end of the season, but now this seems most appropriate. Sycamore football 2011--another reason I'm proud to be a Tree.

Im proud of what this program has done. For quite a few years, I left games we lost embarassed. Now when we loose im disappointed.

3 or 4 years ago what would you have expected to feel like after playing #1. I doubt I would have been replaying plays in my head, wondering if a couple things could have gone different what would have happened.

Not only very proud of the team but also very proud of the fans. It has been a lot of years since I've heard that much enthusiasm coming from the stands.

As you all know, this football program means a great deal to me....

and thanks to the people at Indiana State, they've let me get back inside the program a bit by allowing me to do radio for the team.

The other comments in this thread I agree with wholeheartedly. I was and am disappointed that ISU lost Saturday. I'm not down on the team. I'm disappointed because I know they can play so much better. I saw it at Western Kentucky. The Sycamores are 5-4 and, with the exception of WKU, haven't played a complete game this season.

I know what Ronnie can do. I know what Justin, Donald, Leonard can do. I know what Shakir, Brock, Luke and George can do. I've seen that offensive line create running lanes. I've seen Big Ben Obeski make plays on defense, along with Archie, Hardy, Sewell, Burnett, Towalid, King, and Carter, among others.

I want these guys to succeed. Maybe I get too worked up. It took me until Sunday to begin getting over the loss on Saturday. I guess I'm still not completely over the loss.

Yes, North Dakota State is a very good team. But the Sycamores had their chances to win. And could have won. Now Indiana State needs to win this week and next week. And be strong in doing it. Make an impression.

Enjoying this season...

Tremondous progress for Coach Miles and his staff and the TEAM; especially proud of the SRs and JRs for remaining loyal and dedicated.

only loss that stings was to the Deadbirds; win that and when we win out, we'd be 8-3/6-2 with losses to the best teams on our schedule.

I don't want to jinx us, but think about this - outside of Penn State we have not suffered a blowout loss this season. We also haven't had a blowout loss at home in two years.

Tom,

I greatly admire your loyalty and dedication to the Sycamores. I have followed the Trees from afar (2 hr.) drive for over 40 years plus my time as a student. I have seen the days of the old baseball stadium, the first use of Astro-Turf, the Huntsman, Jamieson, Raetz, eras, and now hopefully the Miles era. I have traveled to the Haute in bad times and good. The progress is incredible and it appears to have been done the correct way. I am so proud to be a Tree! I love being in the stands at Memorial Stadium where you can enjoy a game without having to pay an "arm and a leg", do not have to pay to park, etc. There was probably more energy in the crowd on Saturday than any game in recent memory. We were in the game all the way, NDSU's coach was complimentary, what's not to be proud of. I plan to make the trip on Nov. 19th to see us cinch an FCS playoff spot and hope at least 7000 others will be too.
